Sri, Narayanan Gurukkal the founder of C.V.N Kalari Sangam

was born in the year 1927 and at the age of nine initiated into Kalari

training. Along with his counterpart Sri. Govindan Kutty Gurukkal

of Trivandrum brought Kalarippayat to lime light and propogated it

all over the world through stage programs and lecture demonstrations

even gaining the attention of international community.For thirty years

he was the District secretary of Kalari Association and for five years

headed the State Association. He was the recipient of many national

and international awards and also for The American Excellency Award

For Achievement -- 2000.

Sri. Narayan Gurukkal died at the age of 73 in the year 2000 passing

on the tradition to his three sons who are committed to perpetuate and

propagate it for the benefit of international community.
